Create your business profile, publish your products and receive enquiries directly. You manage availability, payments, delivery and after-sales service for your business.
Have these details ready
- A ChatGPT account to sign in and manage your business. Use the same account whenever you return.
- Your business name, a short description, city or town, province and a public business email address. A WhatsApp number is optional.
- A clear product photo you have permission to use, a descriptive name, accurate specifications, condition and a price in rand.
- Your stock availability, collection or delivery arrangements, dispatch expectations, returns process and warranty information.
- For online payments, your own activated PayFast or Paystack merchant account and a live payment link for each product. Gateway onboarding requirements apply separately.
Publish your first product
Create your business profile
Open Seller account, sign in with ChatGPT and complete the business form. The details you enter are displayed with your listings, so use contact information customers can use.
Add your product
Choose Add product. Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP photo up to 5 MB. Enter a product name, price, department, description, condition and delivery option, then publish.
Add payment links if you want online checkout
Open Payment gateways in the seller dashboard. Choose a product, add its PayFast and/or Paystack link, explain delivery and extra costs, check the details and save.
Respond and fulfil
Confirm stock and the full quote with each customer. Verify payment in your gateway account, supply an invoice where appropriate, and arrange collection or courier delivery.
What your business manages
| Area | Your responsibility |
|---|---|
| Products & stock | Keep descriptions and prices accurate. Confirm availability and pause a listing when stock is unavailable. |
| Customer communication | Answer enquiries, confirm the agreement and keep buyers informed about changes or delays. |
| Payments & records | Use your own gateway account, check received payments and keep receipts and sale records. |
| Delivery & after-sales | Pack and deliver goods, share tracking, handle cancellations, returns, warranty enquiries and refunds. |
Understand your costs
The current site does not collect MarketLane listing subscriptions or deduct a sales commission. Payment-provider charges, courier costs, packaging, returns and your own business obligations remain separate. Check the provider’s current fees before setting your prices.
MarketLane does not run a seller payout schedule: settlement is between your business and its gateway. No sales volume or search ranking is guaranteed.
Keep your store information current
- Use Edit to update products and Pause to temporarily hide a listing. Resume it when it is available again.
- Deleting a product also removes its photo and payment settings. Keep your own records before deleting a listing.
- If the price, title, condition or delivery option changes, review and save the payment links again to restore checkout.
- There is no automatic stock counter or order-management feed. Keep your own sales records and avoid selling stock that is no longer available.
