Use business contact details you are comfortable showing to buyers. Your seller sign-in links your profile and listings to your account.
Information visible with a listing
Your entered business name, description, city, province, public business email and optional WhatsApp number appear with your products. Product photos, descriptions, prices, condition and delivery information are also visible to visitors who can access the marketplace.
If you add payment links, buyers can be directed to those gateway pages and can read the delivery terms you supply. Do not put private credentials, customer records or unnecessary personal details in any of these fields.
Your seller account
Sellers sign in with ChatGPT. The site uses that identity to associate a business and its products with the seller and to control editing access. Your sign-in email is not automatically used as the public business email: you enter that contact address in the business form.
Return using the same ChatGPT account to manage your existing business. Use the sign-out link on the seller dashboard when you finish on a shared device. A seller cannot edit another seller’s listings.
Change what buyers can see
- Use Edit business profile in your dashboard to correct the details you entered.
- Edit a product to update its description, photo, price or fulfilment information.
- Pause a listing to hide it from the catalogue, or delete it and its uploaded photo when you no longer need it.
- Remove both gateway links in payment settings to stop offering checkout for that product.
- There is currently no self-service button to delete an entire business profile or request a complete account-data export. Deleting a listing does not delete your ChatGPT account or records held by a seller or gateway.
Payment and messaging services
MarketLane does not request or store card numbers, banking passwords or payment API keys. The payment gateway collects the details needed to process a purchase on its own website.
Email and WhatsApp buttons open the relevant messaging service. The seller receives the messages and information you choose to share. Hosting, sign-in, image and payment providers may process technical information when their services load; their own terms and privacy practices apply.
There is no purchase-history or automatic payment-status database in the current MarketLane checkout. Keep important purchase records with your own files and the seller.
For sellers handling customer information
Ask only for information needed to quote, deliver and support the purchase. Keep it secure, share it only where needed for those purposes or as otherwise lawfully permitted, and do not publish it in a listing.
